Fred Perry who recently released its Spring/Summer collection has jumped on the bandwagon of the season which falls upon us as Fall/Winter 20 brings a lot of layer. Fred Perry had a collaborative release in partnership with London-based label Casely-Hayford and this is more than what we had expected, both designers listened and heard the cry of the people who have been clamoring for diversity and inclusiveness when it comes to representation of black models.
Founded by Charlie Casely-Hayford and his late father, the critically acclaimed designer, Joe Casely-Hayford OBE, the brand brings a love for tailoring and contemporary styling together with an alternative slow approach to creating special pieces, with the intention they will be worn forever, each time adding stories to be passed on with the garments. Shirting in the collection holds a feeling of hand-me-down, as demonstrated through subtle details such as displaced pockets and miss-matched buttons. With reference to both brands’ archives, knitwear is rich and embellished juxtaposing some of the tougher outerwear pieces underpinned with Saville Row precision.
The Fred Perry tennis bomber jacket is reinterpreted with a contemporary fit and a dark green striped lining inspired by tailoring and special wrap around cuff details with imitation horn buttons.
The collection is set for worldwide release on November 5th via from the fred perry webstore.
