When it comes to men’s style gone are the days where one can put on anything and feel OK we are in an era where every part of you needs all the attention and we can say for a fact that there are a few men out there who are actually ticking all the boxes when it comes to their style and a few who are just pulling up.
We spoke with International Fashion Consultant Caleb of LekkyBest where he speaks candidly with us on his 10 DOS and DONTS when it comes to men’s style.
1. Not dressing up for the occasion:
Avoid dressing out of content. If you are attending a formal event wear formal attire and that applies to casual occasions etc
2 . Wearing a visible undershirt:
Wearing a neat and match-able undershirt but making it visible is what is wrong
3. Worn out shoes / unpolished As a gentleman your footwear plays an important role so invest money in that area of your wardrobe. Polish your shoes and wash the sneakers. Keep them clean and sparkling.d / dirty footwear:
4. White socks with black shoes:
till date, some guys still wear white socks with black shoes.
They simply don’t match, so avoid this style mistake unless you are trying to moonwalk. It’s most preferable to wear black shoes with black socks.
5. Wearing over-sized ties:
Don’t let your tie fall beyond your belt line, if you want to avoid looking immature.
6. An unkempt hairstyle & use of excessive hair product :
Have clean gentle hairstyle. A gentleman hairstyle that speaks for itself
And avoid too much hair product as this will make your hair look unintentionally greasy and over the top. Using moderate hair products are good. It makes the hair look nice.
7. Discard Square toe shoes:
These types of shoes were never acceptable. They will completely destroy your fashion sense. They are big, awkward and outdated, so do not wear them.
8. Not ironing your dress shirt:
You should always take the time to iron your dress shirt. Don’t wear dress shirts that have been squashed or wrinkled/ rumpled. It only takes 10-15 minutes to iron, and your shirt will make you look 100% more stylish.
9. Wrong Buttoning of Jacket:
Simple accepted rules in the industry : when wearing a two buttoned jacket, you should only button the top button. With a three-buttoned jacket, always button the middle button (the top is optional).
10. Not wearing Fragrances:
If you are not allergic to fragrance then it’s time to get a cologne. Investing in fragrance is absolutely key when it comes to making a strong impression or enhancing your style.
